As time passes, the movements produce an increasingly complex pattern that is recorded by the drawing instrument (pencil, red iron oxide, or light). The drawings become even more interesting when mechanical flaws introduce imperfections into the patterns. The unpredictable nature of the machines allows each drawing to be one of a kind.
